Once upon a time I have red somewhere ''Social media is becoming who we are’’.
So what does it mean for the companies. Its actually refers the source of everything especially for the marketing related departments. According to Jay Baer, Marketing is the messages and/or actions that cause messages and/or actions. Today, customers are lying behind this actions. More importantly consumers are more likely to influenced by what others said about your company or product rather than what you said. And that’s not an interesting fact because it was almost same for all the centuries. Have you ever heard the story of Hush Puppies? A group of local started to wear their shoes and others who saw their choices decided to follow the style. After that Hush Puppies has covered with the fashion designers and guess what?
In the mid 1990’s It may be difficult to become so popular just because of the inability of internet and technology. Now, each of us can share our words with the rest of the world. Therefore another mayor issue about creating deeper bounds between the product and the customers has an alternative approach with that new technologies. If social media is becoming what we are, It wouldn’t be wrong to say Social&Digital channels are becoming the channel itself.
Digital marketing is the promotion of products or brands with using digital channels to reach consumers.
So what are the challenges that effect the success of digital marketing.
First of all with the internet of things managing the source of data is increasingly getting difficult. Personally I have 2 laptops,1 mobile phone and a tablet for internet. I believe lots of you have more then I. Also there are variety of interfaces, social and digital channels. All of these has to be named as one otherwise the results will be not accurate. So the creative challenge remains its place but now there is a big data challenge.
Inovation, I don’t want to deeply study this one because its clear who access to consumers who follows the new technologies will be one step further.
Therefore the biggest barrier about this topic is bringing the right people to right positions. The top skill sets companies are hiring for this year are digital/social (54%), content creation (44%), big data/analytics (33%) and mobile strategy (30%), Mondo found.
Lastly like the all of the other sectors, competition.
It’s obvious that marketing has to focus on the mathematic man models. Creativity is still one of the most effective term on marketing but with the big data the game will be change. On the other hand new technologies like weblogic make instantaneous, automatic and personal control to customer data.
For a better management of digital marketing the key issues are big data, dynamic responds to customers and digital customer relationships. It’s obvious in the near future the effects and needs of data scientist on that subject will be increased. Just because of the neuromarketing I’m not sure the digital marketing will be the only game changer or not but Im %100 sure that in both of the areas data scientists will determine the rules.
